| About Renaud Notaro: He came to Colorado in 1992 and graduated from CSU in ‘95. Renaud began doing radio in 1996 in Ft. Collins with “60 Kicks,” the flagship of CSU athletics. Covered the Broncos, CSU, Rockies and the first year the Avalanche were in Denver. He moved to Ft. Morgan in 1997 to work as News/Sports Director at KFTM/KBRU. In 1998, he moved back to Ft. Collins to do morning news and sports at Clear Channel Ft. Collins (1410 KCOL, 600 KIIX, 107.9 The Bear, and The Eagle Country 96).
|
Renaud spent time in The Capital City doing TV in Cheyenne at CBS Newschannel 5 as an anchor and reporter. His second tour of duty on the eastern plains came in Sterling, Colo., where he was the voice of Northeastern Junior College and Sterling High School. Renaud also co-hosted an award winning morning show on 105.7 KPMX. We won CBAs for Best Morning Show, Best Radio Personality and Best News Story.
He played some rugby in college but quit (he bruises like a peach) to play baseball. His college baseball career was VERY brief. A pitcher that can’t get a speeding ticket is of little use. Born in Hattiesburg, Miss., Renaud calls Pass Christian, Miss., his hometown. The Pass is on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, about an hour east of New Orleans. Katrina destroyed about 70 percent of the town, but the rebuilding continues. Renaud grew up in Houston, Texas, where his parents still live.
| About Karl Hungus: Karl took up residence in Colorado in 1999, signing to play football for the Colorado Buffaloes. At CU he was an above average 2 year starter and 4 year letterman at offensive guard and tackle. In 2001, he played on CU's Big 12 Champion as well as the Fiesta Bowl, and was later named to the Buffs' All Decade 2nd Team. He graduated with a degree in Communication and also served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
|
He began in radio in 2007, interning for KDVR and KKFN, later working there as a board operator. Hungus also works in the restaurant industry, managing a popular Denver bar, Atomic Cowboy, and its counterpart restaurants Fat Sully's Pizza and Denver Biscuit Company.
He is an avid trivia buff, as he also hosts a weekly live trivia game at Atomic. He even used his trivia prowess for financial gain, as he appeared on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in 2009, on both the primetime and daytime versions, though he will no longer eat dim sum after missing on a question about it.
Rare in sports media, Hungus is also a self-proclaimed sports atheist, as he has no teams for which he roots. He credits growing up in Arkansas with no local pro teams as the primary reason for this. He is however an ardent fan of the NFL, NBA, college football, baseball, and the UFC.
In his off time, Hungus is a connoisseur of beers, always on the hunt for the next great ale to put in his growler. He is a shoe enthusiast, despite rocking a size 16, a grammar nerd, a pop culture savant, a decent scrabble player, ice cream junkie, and fan of average movies with great soundtracks. Born and raised in Little Rock, AR, he was student body president at prestigious Catholic High School for Boys.
